Airtel’s Chief Information Security Officer Felix Mohan Quits

Shortly after Bharti Enterprises CIO Jay Menon exited from the company, Bharti Airtel's Senior Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer Felix Mohan has also put in his papers, reports Light Reading India. Mohan told the publication that he plans to start his own venture called Phoenix Security from January 1, 2014. The company will be providing advanced security consultation to combat security attacks. Mohan had joined Airtel as the Chief Information Security Officer in October 2006, wherein he was responsible for the company's managed security services, information security, business continuity and compliance. He was also given additional responsibilities of Chief Information Officer-South Asia in July 2013, wherein he was handling Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as part of the portfolio. Last week, Jay Menon had exited from Bharti Airtel after a 11 year stint, amid rumors of code of conduct violations while awarding contracts for third party companies. There were also talks of Airtel launching a full-fledged investigation into this matter. Menon however had denied these rumors, terming them as baseless rumors. Going forward, he plans to pursue entrepreneurship or join a mid-sized company so as to go back to deep-tech and research segment, as indicated by a separate Light Reading India report.
