Times Internet’s music streaming service Gaana will be updated with a new design and a bunch of new features including custom radios and deeper social integration.
The new version will soon feature radio stations based on artist, genre and other categories. Deep integration with social network will help the listener to discover new music through friends. The new version will also offer listeners to tune in to a variety of pre-programmed radio streams, featuring popular Radio Jockeys’ bytes, celebrity favourites and curated music. Gaana has 5 million monthly active users and over 2 millions songs from 84 languages .
That said, Gaana is not the first site to offer radio stations, Dhingana introduced playlists curated by RJs in March this year. Apart from these curated radio stations, Dhingana also offers genre and theme based curated playlists for listeners.
