Porting requests were submitted for 2.23 million connections in the month of July 2013, according to the Indian Telecom regulator TRAI. This is a 9.86% increase from 2.03 million porting requests reported in June 2013.

India has a total mobile connection base of 874.87 million connections (731.39 million active).

For the month of July, the maximum number of requests in Zone-I (North and West India) were received in Rajasthan at 0.25 million. Jammu & Kashmir registered the lowest number of requests at 443 but that is quite expected, considering that it has one of the lowest user base.
