Flipkart Android App Goes Native E-commerce major Flipkart has finally released a native version of its Android app on the Play Store. While the app was available earlier on the Play Store, it was essentially a webpage wrapped as an app. When we checked, the app seems to offer the same features as its web version, although it does offer an additional feature of barcode scanning, which allows users to scan the barcodes of products to view their listings on Flipkart. It also offers a homescreen widget which showcases the current offers on the site. Amazon India Adds Fashion Jewellery and Watches Hot on the heels of launching four new categories earlier this week, Amazon India has now added two new categories - Fashion Jewellery and Watches. The company claims to offer more than 27,500 products across more than 180 brands and designers in this section. This includes brands like Gitanjali, Peora, Diovanni, Pretty Women, Sia and Toniq among others and designers like Isharya, Valliyan, Bansri, Maya and others. In the watches section, Amazon India claims to offer more than 5,500 products from 50 brands including Casio, Timex, Titan, Fastrack, Fossil, Esprit, Tommy Hilfiger and others. Earlier this week, Amazon had stated that it plans to introduce Home and Kitchen products in the coming weeks.
