Web Accounted For Only 7% Of NDTV Revenues In FY13

Web accounted for only 7% of NDTV's consolidated revenues for the year ending March 31, 2013 (FY13), up from 5% in FY12 and 4% in FY11. The company had reported a consolidated revenue of Rs 551.4 crore for FY13, which translates to web revenues of around 38.6 crore for the fiscal. The contribution from ad sales has declined year on year to 54% for FY13, down from 62% in FY12, however it continues to the highest revenue contributor for NDTV. The contribution of subscription revenue has also marginally declined to 13% for FY13 for 14% in FY12, while the contribution of events business has significantly increased to 11% for FY13, up from 6% in FY12. NDTV Convergence, the new media subsidiary of NDTV group which manages the company's Internet and mobile business, reported a turnover of Rs 54.46 crore for the fiscal, up 60.4% from Rs 33.95 crore for FY12. The company posted a profit of Rs 7.72 crore for the fiscal, up 43.2% from 5.39 crore profit in FY12. Its not clear if the merger of NDTV Convergence Ltd and NDTV Labs has commenced yet, since NDTV has not disclosed any specific information on this. In May 2012, NDTV had approved this merger and it had received an in-principal approval from the company board on November 1, 2012. In February 2013, NDTV had informed that both the entities will be merged to a new unnamed subsidiary, however it had informed in May 2013, that the merger is yet to commence. We wonder what's taking so long…
