Fashion and lifestyle products focused e-commerce venture Myntra has appointed Vikas Ahuja as its Chief Marketing Officer. In this role, Ahuja will be responsible for the company's sales and marketing functions and driving Myntra's overall brand strategy. Prior to this appointment, Ahuja was serving as the Country Business Manager at Nestle India Limited and has apparently led various Nestle brands like Bar-One, Milky-Bar, Kit-Kat, Munch, Nescafe, and Maggi among others. Before this, he has also served various roles at Nestle India and Nestle Vietnam. Ahuja was also part of the founding team of the e-learning portal eGurucool.com and was its Chief Marketing Officer for almost two years (January 2000-December 2001). He has 18 years of sales and marketing experience. Myntra had raised around $25 million from existing investors like Tiger Global and Accel Partners late last year and was planning to use the funds raised to improve its back end infrastructure and expand its operations across the country. Myntra currently claims to have tie-ups with over 550 leading fashion and lifestyle brands in the country such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, Lee, Levis, Arrow, Biba, FabIndia, and Timberland among others. It has raised around $65 million investment until now, including a $21 million round in Feb 2012, a $14 million round in March 2011 and a $5 million round in November 2008. The company had acquired the virtual fitting room Fitiquette in April 2013, following which Fitiquette’s core product was expected to be integrated within its website and Fitiquette CEO Andy Pandharikar was expected to head Myntra's Innovation Labs in San Francisco.
