Times Internet’s* subscription-based online video streaming service BoxTV has inked a tie-up to add Hyder Kazmi's Bhojpuri movie titles to its catalogue. Through this tie-up, the company informed that it will be able to offer Bhojpuri movie titles like Ladaai, Kaalia, Rangbaaj on the web and on its mobile apps across iOS, Android and the recently launched Smart TV apps. The deal period or the terms of the partnership were not disclosed. BoxTV already offers regional content in Bengali, Marathi and south Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam and through this tie up, it seems to be reaching out to the regional audience in central India. However, note that BoxTV's competitors BigFlix, Spuul and Hungama already offers Bhojpuri movie titles. While Bigflix is currently offering four movie titles at present, Spuul is offering around seven Bhojpuri movie titles and Hungama is offering around five movie titles at present. T-Series also offers around 90 Bhojpuri movies through a dedicated channel called 'Hamaar Bhojpuri' on YouTube. Last month, BoxTV had partnered with Celestial Pictures (CPL) to add more than 100 titles of Shaw Brothers martial arts movies to its catalogue. It had also inked content agreements with Sony Pictures Television and Disney UTV in February 2013, to offer premium movie and television titles on its portal. Besides this, it currently has partners like UTV Motion Pictures, Shemaroo Entertainment, Rajshri Entertainment and Everymedia Technologies for Bollywood and regional content. BoxTV competes with other online video streaming services like Eros International’s Eros Now, Reliance ADA’s BigFlix, Hungama Movies, Singapore-based Spuul, and Google’s YouTube. *Disclosure: Times Internet is an advertiser with…
