WAH Holidays Pvt Ltd owned holiday planning website, WeAreHolidays has raised an undisclosed sum of funding from Blume Ventures, Mumbai Angels, Sachin Bhatia, co-founder of MakeMyTrip and GSF India, reports The Economic times (via Startup Central). The funds will be used to hire content and technology teams. Started in 2011, WeAreHolidays offers travel guide and tour packages to destinations around the world. However, when we checked their website, we noticed that they don't offer tour packages to all destinations mentioned in their international holiday packages section. Each destination's page intends to provide information on overview, things to do, places to see, nearby getaways, places to eat, shop, nightlife, visa, language, among others. How this is different from other holiday sites isn't very clear. In terms of design and information, it offers what most holiday sites intend to provide. While going through the site, we also noticed that the website has a cancellation policy which states that even cancellations done 45 days or more prior to the date of departure would be charged 30% of the amount, in comparison with MakeMyTrip which offers full refund on hotel cancellations 7 days prior to the date of departure and MustSeeIndia, another travel planning site charges Rs 1000 for cancellations 15days prior to the date of departure.
