Wishpoint Tech Pvt Ltd that runs a price comparison portal ShoppingWish.in has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Sandeep Johri and other angel investors, reports Techcircle. The report states that the capital was raised earlier this year and the funds will be used to gain user traction and on product. Founded in June 2012 by Sushil Choudhari and Madhur Khandelwal, ShoppingWish is a price comparison search engine for consumer products such as camera, computer, mobiles, appliances, and also for personal care and entertainment. The site has listed about 175 products and the total catalogue of product offerings is more than 3.5 million. It gathers product price from sites such as Flipkart, The Mobile Store, Infibeam, Next, Tradus, Homeshop18, Snapdeal, Saholic, among others. The site includes product description, reviews, give lowest price of the product, top deals and related products aiding product discovery. The company claims that it would launch its mobile app by next quarter. Of late we have seen a lot of startups in the price comparison or best price segment. ShoppingWish competes with CompareIndia, which Network18 bought a decade ago, the Helion Venture Partners and Accel Partners backed MySmartPrice, FindYogi and iShopper*, CompareRaja, PriceDekho, ShopMania, PriceCheck, Prodsea, BearShop. 500 Startups backed PriceBaba also claims to provide best price for mobile handsets from offline retailers. *Disclosure: iShopper is owned by Vivek Pahwa, who is related to Nikhil Pahwa.
