Paytm and redBus Launch Real-Time Bus Tracking Feature

One97 Communications incubated online payments site Paytm and online bus booking site redBus.in have introduced real-time bus tracking on its respective bus booking services, allowing their customers to track buses in real time. This feature will allow travelers booking their bus tickets through these sites will be able to track the estimated arrival time of the buses at the boarding point. However, its worth noting that this feature will be available only on buses whose operators have installed a GPS tracker. It appears that both these service providers have launched this feature to inform travelers about any delay in the bus arrival at the boarding points due to traffic. Live Bus Tracking On redBus: redBus has launched this feature in partnership with YourBus and Asset Tracker who provide in-bus GPS tracking solution. Redbus claims that this feature will be to be available over 600 buses operated by Orange Travels, SVR Travels, Morning Star, Kaveri Travels, Sree travels, Navin Travels. How does it work? While we were not able to try the feature on the portal or its Android app, the company said that passengers will be able to make use of this new feature on buses marked with Live tracking on redBus. It said that around 30 minutes before the bus journey starts, they will send a SMS to the passengers with the registration number of the bus along with a link that will allow passengers to track their bus on Google Maps service.
