Robotics & warehouse automation startup Grey Orange Robotics has raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding from Tiger Global and Blume Ventures. Angels like FG Wilson president Alok Rawat and Kanbay co-founder Dileep Nath also participated in the round. While the company declined to disclose the investment size to Medianama, several media reports suggest that it has raised Rs 54 crore to Rs 60 crore in this investment round. Prior to this, Grey Orange Robotics had secured investment from Blume Ventures, BITS Sparks Angels and other International Angels. The company mentions that it will be using the investment raised to expand to international markets like Singapore, Dubai and Germany. It will also be using the investment for R&D and hiring. Founded in 2009 by Samay Kohli and Akash Gupta, Grey Orange Robotics builds worker robots and assisting systems for warehouse automation. It has developed two products until now - Butler system & sortation system. Butler system which is the company's flagship product, is a material handling system comprising small robots who traverse on a grid of paths across the warehouse floor to fetch racks of items to the packer while Sortation System is an automated sorting, scanning and weighing system, which sorts and diverts packets to the designated delivery vendors.
