Saholic Promises On Time Delivery; To Offer Compensation For Delays

Saholic.com, Spice* Group’s online retail store which offers Mobiles, Tablets, Laptops & Accessories, has introduced an ‘On Time Guarantee’ feature through which Saholic will commits delivery time for products ordered online, failing which the customer will be compensated for every day of delay.

As a part of the offer, Saholic will compensate for the delay in the form of Gift Vouchers at the rate of Rs. 50 per business day upto maximum of Rs 500 or upto 10% of the product value whichever is lower. Customers will be able to redeem the gift vouchers for any product or Mobile/DTH recharge on Saholic.com without a limit. Note that the offer is valid on all Mobiles, Cameras, Laptops, Tablets and Accessories above Rs. 2000 in value, and cash on delivery orders are not eligible.

The company claims that it has built a robust infrastructure to accurately track every order end to end, and that its experience with procurement and logistics drawn from more than 850 Spice Hotspot retail outlets allows it to accurately forecast delivery timelines. It also states that it has been working closely with delivery partners to enable checks and balances and ensure timely delivery.

Shipping and delivery is a major part of the consumers’ shopping experience and a determining factor when it comes to their propensity to shop online, again. A large number of consumers give up, after their first online order, as they don’t get products on time and have to reach out to the company for ironing out issues, instead of getting a flawless shipping experience, causing inconvenience defeating the purpose of shopping online. This feature might help in getting customers who’re skeptical about delivery timelines while shopping online on board, but the issue of trust has to be addressed in a broader manner, not just by offering gift vouchers. Companies need to be more transparent about stocks and need to communicate with consumers at every step of the process. Commuting to deliver within a promised time frame is just one piece of the puzzle.

Saholic had earlier introduced ‘Buy Online, Pickup In Store’ feature, where-in customers can pick up their orders from a nearby Spice Hotspot retail outlet, in the Delhi-NCR region.
