Bhaskar Das, who resigned from Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd (BCCL), has joined Essel Group as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), reports
He will be responsible for digital and news business, which includes Zee News Ltd and web portal, which is a joint venture between Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zeel) and PMC, a US-based digital media company. Das will be based out of Mumbai and has joined the company on October 22, 2012.

Bhaskar Das had joined The Times of India Group in 1980 as a management trainee, thus completing 32 years at the company. At the The Times Of India Group, Das joined as a management trainee and was made  head of the Response department in Ahmedabad. In 1986, he took over as a sales head of the Eastern Region in Kolkata.  In 1990, Das was appointed as the profit centre head of Gujarat and took over as director of the western zone of Response (ad sales) in 1995. BCCL named Das as  the executive president of BCCL in 2005.


Shivam Srivastava has joined Vdopia as Director Business Development – APAC operations. At Vdopia, Srivastava will be responsible to align the company’s product portfolio in sync with clients requirement. Prior to joining Vdopia, Srivastava worked with Zenith Optimedia as an associate vice president. Apart from that he has also worked with digital brands such as Times of India and Sify.

Vdopia, a mobile and online video advertising firm, is headquartered in Silicon Valleyand has sales and  development offices in Silicon Valley, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Jose in the U.S., and Mumbai and Gurgaon in India.


Monica Tata, who worked at Turner International India as General Manager, Entertainment Networks South Asia, has decided to quit the company, reports Afaqs. According to the report, she is currently serving her notice period and will leave the company by the end of this year.

Tata has been working with Turner International India for the last nine years and is the second senior level employee to make an exit in last couple of months. In October, Anshuman Misra, senior vice-president and managing director, networks and content distribution, Turner International Asia Pacific, left the company. Just last year, Tata was promoted to handle all of Turner’s India networks, as the company’s VP & GM, Networks.

Prior to joining Turner, Tata worked with Sunday Mail and STAR India. Monica Tata is also a member of the managing committee at the India chapter of the International Advertising Association.
