Industry Moves: Bharti Airtel, SMG, eBay India

Amrita Gangotra, Director-IT & CIO (India & South Asia) at Bharti Airtel has resigned from the company, reports Light Reading India. It's not entirely clear where Gangotra will be headed next but according to the report, she hinted at joining Vodafone UK. Gangotra joined Bharti Airtel in November 2002 and was responsible for strategizing, planning and ensuring implementation of IT projects for all lines of business unit including mobile, telemedia and DTH. Prior to joining Bharti Airtel, she worked with HCL Comnet Ltd. **** Arnab Mitra, National Director- Digital, Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), has resigned from the company, reports India Digital Review. Mitra is currently serving his notice period till the end of December 2012. According to the report, Mitra will be launching his own venture. Prior to joining SMG, Mitra worked with MediaContacts, a Havas Digital Company, as a regional director - South Asia. He has also worked with Ignitee (formerly know as Connecturf Pvt. Ltd.) as a Head - Business Development (Mumbai), Pinstorm as Solution Architect, Indigo Consulting, ePurple Media, and HCL Technologies. Mitra has invested an undisclosed amount of funding into recently launched Digital Marketing and Training Institute (DMTI). **** eBay India has appointed Ram Narayan as General Manager at eBay India Centre of Excellence.
