Industry Moves: Infosys, BCCL

Infosys Limited, a business consulting, technology firm, has appointed Ashok Lalla as Global Head of Digital Marketing, reports India Digital Review. Lalla will assume his new role in Bangalore from October 4, 2012.

Lalla has previously worked with Mindshare  as Leader, Digital, for South Asia and had resigned from the position in May 2012. Prior to that, he has also worked with Euro RSCG as a President – Digital, Taj Hotels Resort and Palaces at various positions, Times Multimedia as a Senior Product Manager, and at Enterprise Nexus Communication (now Bates 141) as a Senior Account Executive.


Bhaskar Das, president and principal secretary to the managing director at Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd (BCCL), has put in his papers, as reported by Afaqs. Das confirmed the move to Afaqs and it is rumored that he will be moving to the Zee Group.

Bhaskar Das joined The Times of India Group in 1980 as a management trainee, thus completing 32 years at the company. At the The Times Of India Group, Das joined as a management trainee and was made  head of the Response department in Ahmedabad. In 1986, he took over as a sales head of the Eastern Region in Kolkata.  In 1990, Das was appointed as the profit centre head of Gujarat and took over as director of the western zone of Response (ad sales) in 1995. BCCL named Das as  the executive president of BCCL in 2005.

Apart from handling various positions at BCCL, Bhaskar Das was also a board member of Zoom Entertainment Network, Times Guaranty, Optimal Media Solutions, World Wide Media and Vijayanad Printers.
