We’re pleased to announce Satyan Gajwani, CEO of Times Internet Ltd as a speaker at The #NAMA Conference, being held on October 10th 2012 at The Westin, Gurgaon. Among other things, we will be discussing with him what exactly big media companies are doing wrong on the Internet. I’m particularly curious about the structuring of online media companies, the thinking behind the restructuring of Times Internet Ltd, the relationship of products with social and search, the opportunity and challenges on mobile.
There’s a lot more that we can discuss, so if you have any questions for Satyan that will help set the context of our discussion, please use this form: http://nama.cc/satyangajwani

Speaker Profile: Satyan Gajwani, CEO, Times Internet Ltd
Satyan Gajwani is the 27 year old American-born and desi-adjusted CEO of Times Internet. He’s joined as CEO 4 months ago, and is trying to transform one of India’s oldest and largest Internet companies into a cutting edge, product and technology centric collective of promising Internet businesses. For the last few years, Satyan has been working on BCCL’s group digital strategy, before now taking over the helms of Times Internet.
As background, Times Internet owns and operates properties in news, entertainment, music, video, commerce, deals, mVAS, and more. Pretty much, if it’s something big in the digital world, Times Internet probably has their foot in there somehow!
Satyan grew up in the US in sunny Miami FL, where he developed his love for the Miami Heat basketball team. He joined Stanford University, studying Math & Computer Science. He then moved to New York, and joined a small boutique bank you wouldn’t have heard of, called Lehman Brothers, as an equities and derivatives trader. From there, he moved to India four years ago, working on Bennett Coleman’s overall digital strategy, and now operationally running their digital arm.
A transformation is taking place in both the Internet and Mobile services businesses. Along with uncertainty, there is significant opportunity. #NAMA seeks to shed light on challenges and uncertainties, what market leaders are doing about it, and point towards opportunities through deep, insightful and meaningful discussions and sharing of experiences.
Our focus is on providing the audience with valuable insight on the decisions that are being made, why they’re being made, what developments are influencing them, and how they will impact the growth of the digital industry going forward. We will provide #NAMA attendees with significant and varied learning about the digital ecosystem, and give them a reason to stay in the conference hall, not just chat in the hallway.
#NAMA will be a conference with a healthy mix of ideas, thought leadership and with important operational questions being addressed, with fresh ideas being shared and showcased, and hopefully, defining a sense of directions in these uncertain times, and a vision. #NAMA is being organized by MediaNama, the premier publication on the evolution of India’s digital ecosystem, being held on October 10th 2012, at The Westin, in Gurgaon
