At the helm of a company that was started to change the way advertisers advertise on search, and following a career of over 20 years of marketing and communications (over 10 years in Digital), Mahesh Murthy wears many, many hats, and has very strong opinions backed by data and experience. Pinstorm, which he founded, remains one of the few independent digital marketing firms around, and we’re pleased to have Mahesh on board to share with us his views on the future of the digital agency, on what is driving an increase in advertising spends and how advertiser behavior is changing, what his take is mobile advertising, and how the consolidation in the digital agency business will impact the online publisher ecosystem. Of course, there’s a lot more that we can speak with him about, as you can tell from his rather fun speaker profile below 😀

Speaker Profile: Mahesh Murthy, Founder Pinstorm
Mahesh Murthy does not have dimples like Gul Panag, does not have muscles like Uday Chopra, does not have Shahid Kapoor’s English spelling skills and is not a Congress (I) fixer claiming to be an independent journalist at NDTV.
He realises he needs to overcome these severe inadequacies to get more followers on Twitter, to improve his overall sexual well-being and to enhance his lifetime career prospects.
While he works on building up these glaring flaws in his character, he passes time between being some sort of digital marketing guy at Pinstorm – where he pretends to help firms like Cadbury Kraft, Airtel, Nestle and ICICI Bank; and some sort of venture capital guy at Seedfund – where he misguides firms like RedBus, CarWale, Vaatsalya and MyDentist.
When not doing any of the above Mahesh can be found online professing his deep and oft-stated love for Apple’s monopolistic practices and Facebook’s radical transparency.
You can also find him on Twitter as @maheshmurthy if you look for the list of people with lower social influence than Shahid Kapoor and Barkha Dutt.
A transformation is taking place in both the Internet and Mobile services businesses. Along with uncertainty, there is significant opportunity. #NAMA seeks to shed light on challenges and uncertainties, what market leaders are doing about it, and point towards opportunities through deep, insightful and meaningful discussions and sharing of experiences.
Our focus is on providing the audience with valuable insight on the decisions that are being made, why they’re being made, what developments are influencing them, and how they will impact the growth of the digital industry going forward. We will provide #NAMA attendees with significant and varied learning about the digital ecosystem, and give them a reason to stay in the conference hall, not just chat in the hallway.
#NAMA will be a conference with a healthy mix of ideas, thought leadership and with important operational questions being addressed, with fresh ideas being shared and showcased, and hopefully, defining a sense of directions in these uncertain times, and a vision. #NAMA is being organized by MediaNama, the premier publication on the evolution of India’s digital ecosystem, being held on October 10th 2012, at The Westin, in Gurgaon
