Aviva India Launches Mobile App

Aviva Life Insurance, an insurance provider, has launched its mobile application on Smartphone platforms including on Android, iOS, and BlackBerry. The app has been developed on JQuery platform.

Features: The application allows customers to check their insurance policy and fund details, request for premium receipt, pay premiums from within the app by entering their login details in the app. Apart from that, the app also lists Aviva India’s product suite where it lists the number of products offered by Aviva India and their description. On the individual product page it also links to Aviva’s call center.

The app provides easier way to appoint an adviser, call customer service at Aviva, locate a branch, and check application status. However, we feel that the app doesn’t offer much for new customers. It could have featured a premium calculator and a link to buy the policy online.

Apart from that, Aviva Mobile also allows customers to access the  stock market news, live cricket scores and instant weather updates from within the app. Application also offers news, however, it only offers headlines for the news. We were not able to confirm the name of the agency with which Aviva has tied up for the content. We have contacted Aviva and will update the post as soon as we hear from them.

The application is available free of cost to download on Google Play for Android, App Store for iOS and BlackBerry World. At the time of writing this post, we were not able to find the Android version of the app on the Google Play Store.

Other Players

In March 2012, life insurer LIC launched a mobile application LICMobile listing information about products and premium of various policies. The application also had a premium calculator that would let the customer know the amount that he would be required to pay once he decides to choose a plan.
