RelocateXP Launches Online Relocation Services Aggregating Packers & Movers

Delhi/NCR based c2i InfoLabs, have launched RelocateXP, an online relocation assistance agency, that enables users to search, compare and receive instant quotes from packers and movers, by aggregating different transport agencies including packers & movers and transporters across the country. The company claims to offer services in 13 Indian cities including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Cochin, Haridwar, Jaipur, Nagpur and Pune.

Offerings: Founded in April 2012, RelocateXP currently offers two kind of relocation services – a household goods shifting service, which allows users to shift household goods like furnitures, electrical appliances and others to a different location in the same city or a different city in the country, and a vehicle transportation service which allows users to transport their two-wheeler or four-wheeler to a different city.  The company claims to have tied up with over 200 agencies across India for this purpose and says that it has done stringent background checks on each packer and mover listed on the portal.

Additionally, RelocateXP also says that businesses can use its services to relocate their entire offices and claims to have relocated offices of several businesses including Axis Bank, BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd), HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited), Reserve Bank of India, Standard Chartered, and State Bank of India among others.

How To Make Bookings? When we checked, we observed that one needs to sign up for an account for using the service. After registration, one can either choose a household goods shift or for a vehicle transportation on the company website. In case of the household shift option, one can choose whether he intends to make an inter-city or an intra-city shift, their preferred city and date and select all the services that are needed including packing services, unpacking services, loading services, and unloading services, among others.

The website then automatically populates the cart with household items based on the size of the house chosen by the user, following which one can modify the cart to add or remove any item from the cart. One can also manually add an item based on the room type like Bathroom, Living Room, Kitchen etc or based on the item type like Furniture, Electrical Applicances, Musical Instruments etc. There is also an option to add custom items which aren’t present in the list.

We found the list to be quite comprehensive and can therefore be quite time consuming. However, what’s interesting is that the inventory information is stored in the account against a specific move ID generated for each transaction, thereby allowing users to complete the inventory information over multiple sessions instead of finishing it in one go.

After the inventory information has been added, the site offers a listing of suitable packers and movers along with their pricing. One can sort the results by company ratings, user ratings, and price or filter the results based on pricing, transit duration and ratings.

Payment Modes: The payment modes offered by the site include credit card, debit card, and net banking and offline options like cheques, demand draft, and wire transfer. Users can make the total payment at one shot or pay 12% of total amount initially and pay the remaining amount on or before the date the items are shifted.

Monetization: The service is available for free for consumers and the company stated that it currently earns money by charging a service fee from packers and movers companies. One thing worth noting is that the website offers a lot of information about the packing company to customers including user ratings, branch office locations, Affiliations and so on, but it does not reveal the name of the company, until the booking is complete to probably remove the possibility of any direct transaction between the customer and packing company.
