Industry Moves: Vdopia, Sony Pix, Dentsu India Group & More

Vdopia, a digital advertising and video monetization player, has appointed Preetesh Chouhan as Vice President – APAC.

Prior to joining Vdopia, Preetesh Chouhan held the position of national head – ad sales at SIFY Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Apart from that, he has worked with AOL LLC as Sales and Innovation manager, AOL Time Warner as a Channel Manager, Indya.com as a Sales Operation manager, and Indiainfo.com as a senior account executive.

Vdopia Inc., is a  mobile and online video advertising company. Its clients include McDonald’s, Scion,
Universal Studios, Microsoft, Sony Pictures, Wrigley and Miller Coors.The company is headquartered in Silicon Valley and has offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Jose in the U.S., and Mumbai and Gurgaon in India.

Allied Media Network Pvt Ltd, media planning, buying and evaluation arm of Percept Limited, has appointed Santanu Bhattacharjee as the Business Head- Team Panasonic. Santanu Bhattacharjee, based in New Delhi, will be heading the business vertical of Panasonic account. He will be reporting to Surbhi Murthy, Associate Vice President.

Prior to joining Allied Media Network, Santanu Bhattacharjee worked as a Director – Business Development in Mindshare- Group M and  in IMG and Panacea Biotec.

Allied Media is the media planning, evaluation and buying arm of Percept Limited that offers media solutions to clients in conventional as well as traditional media.

Sunder Aaron, executive vice-president at Sony Pix, has put in his papers, as reported by Afaqs. According to the report, Sunder Aaron is currently serving his notice period. He joined MSM (then Sony Entertainment Television) in 2002. It’s not known yet as to where he’ll be heading next.

Prior to joining MSM, Aaron was the vice-president, international networks for Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI). It should be noted that Aaron is also the co-founder and chief operating officer of Cinema Entertainment Group (CEG), an entertainment media company. It’s quite plausible that Aaron might take up the job full-time.

The Dentsu India Group has appointed Shantanu Mukherji as executive creative director for Dentsu Creative Impact, agency of the Dentsu network in India, reports Afaqs. Mukherji will partner with the leadership team at Dentsu Creative Impact where he will handle brands such as Maruti, Tetrapak, Max India. Apart from that, he will also partner with Soumitra Karnik, national creative director, Dentsu India Group.

Prior to joining Dentsu India Group, Mukherji worked with JWT, Delhi for 19 years at various designations with most recent being Vice President and Senior Creative Director. Prior to that, he has worked with
Tara Sinha McCann Ericson as a Visualizer.

Dentsu, recently acquired a 51% stake in Mumbai-based Indian advertising agency, Taproot India. Dentsu has also been hiring its leading team for past couple of months. In January 2012, Dentsu appointed C P Arora as group chief financial officer, Suprotim Day as chief films officer for Dentsu India and Arijit Ray as chief executive officer, Dentsu Communications.

Draftfcb Ulka has appointed K Naresh Kumar as Vice President – Planning, at its Delhi office. He will be replacing Sujith Sudhakaran, who was general manager at the firm.

Prior to joining Draftfcb Ulka, K Naresh Kumar worked as an independent brand, marketing and business strategy consultant for six years, since 2006. He worked with Avalon Consulting (Delhi) and Law & Kenneth (Delhi) as an independent consultant.
