Volano Entertainment Pvt Ltd, that operates GamesOn India - a sports discussion portal and a sports events management company, has raised funding from angel investor Shiven Malhotra in an angel round, reports Techcircle. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. The funding raised will be used for scaling up the team and expanding operations pan-India. The website lists Shiven Malhotra as Director of GamesOn India. He runs Strategic Investments by Design (SID), an investment management firm based in San Francisco Bay Area. The report also states that GamesOn India is looking for a second round of funding. GamesOn India was founded in late Decomber 2011 by Adnan Adeeb (MD) and his wife Zeba Zaidi Adeeb (CEO). GamesOn India organizes matches and takes care of the equipment, refreshments, referees, stadiums, and uniforms. What the site offers: Users can register as an individual or as a team. Registration process is simple -- users can enter their email address and password or register via Facebook connect. Professionals or individuals can register on their site for free, however, users have to pay entry fee for registration of a match. For a game of cricket, if one registers as an individual s/he has to pay Rs. 2,200 or if one registers as a corporate team, one has to pay Rs. 17,600. Currently, GamesOn India offers organizes games such as cricket, football, badminton, basketball, tennis, running, dualthon, Hockey, and Touch Football/Rugby.
