Online video advertising network and technology platform, Jivox , has launched an interactive ad insertion solution for HTTP live streaming (HLS) on mobile sites and apps that support HLS video. The new service will let publishers and advertisers insert interactive video ads into live television streams that are delivered via mobile devices. This would allow broadcasters to offer additional inventory for live streams and monetize it. HTTP live streaming delivers video streaming content, both on-demand and live video streams, to mobile devices that do not support Adobe Flash including Apple's iOS, Windows Phone 7 handsets. Although, the announcement does not mention the Indian market but Indian publishers, specifically news broadcasters and VoD services, are prospective clients as they offer in-app or web video streaming. Other developments Last year, Jivox had opened its interactive video platform for licensing, allowing digital content publishers and owners in the Asia Pacific region to make use of Jivox’s video advertising platform to monetize their video content. In October, it had signed a video partnership with the online ad network Komli Media, providing exclusive access to its video platform in the Asia Pacific region along with existing publishers and customers in India. In November 2011, Jivox raised $8.2 million in a funding round led by Fortisure Ventures, with participation from existing investors Opus Capital, Helion Advisors and founder Diaz Nesamoney.
