Viacom18 Media has announced that it has appointed Sudhanshu Vats as its Group CEO, reports exchange4media. Sudhanshu Vats will be joining the group in August 2012, and will be reporting to the Viacom18 board. He will be overseeing Viacom18 businesses including Colors, Comedy Central, MTV, Nick, Sonic, Vh1, and Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

Currently, Sudhanshu Vats is working as Vice President -Laundry South Asia and Global Radiant (Rin in India) at Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (HUL). Prior to handling the Rin brand, Vats managed Skin Cleansing, Launcdry & HHC, India at HUL where he was responsible for Soaps & Detergents business of Hindustan Unilever in India. At HUL he has managed FMCG brands like Surf Excel, Rin, Vim, Wheel, Lifebuoy, Lux & Lipton. He has also worked with Castrol for about 2 years, where he headed the Marketing function.

Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd. is a 50/50 joint venture operation in India between Viacom Inc and the Network18 Group, and operates brands like CNBC TV18, CNBC Awaaz, Newswire18,, CNN-IBN, IBN 7, Homeshop18 and E18 amongst others. It also operates six  general entertainment channels – MTV, Nickelodeon,  Vh1, COLORS, SONIC, Comedy Central and film business through Viacom18 Motion Pictures.


Olacabs has announced the appointment of Maneesh Mittal as Vice President– Operations. He will head Operations and will be responsible for building a ‘world-class’ operations unit that will help in effective allocation of cabs and in intricate coordination between management and technology.

Prior to joining Olacabs, Maneesh Mittal served at Flipkart, a leading e-commerce player, as Vice President – Operations. At Flipkart, Maneesh managed the company’s operations and logistics division. Prior to that, he was an entrepreneur.

Olacabs, founded in January 2011, is an aggregator of car rentals and point-to-point cab services. The service is available on the web, through a mobile app or through a customer service center. Currently, Olacabs operates in Mumbai and will be launching in Delhi and Bangalore this month. The company recently raised an undisclosed amount in a Series A funding from Tiger Global Management.


InMobi, an independent mobile advertising network, has announced the appointment of Monisha Tambay as VP of Global People Operations. This is a newly created position for the company. However, according to her LinkedIn profile, Monisha Tambay seems to have joined InMobi in April 2012.

Prior to joining InMobi, Monisha Tambay was Vice President and Global Head of HR at Subex Limited. She has also worked at Genpact, Storage Tek, Hewitt Associates, and Arthur Andersen.

InMobi is an independent mobile advertising network. It provides advertisers, publishers and developers with a global solution for advertising. The company claims to have a reach of 587 Million consumers, in over 165 countries. The company has offices in five continents. Venture capital firms including including SoftBank, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sherpalo Ventures have invested in InMobi. The company recently shifted its focus back to India and has offices in Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai.
