Industry Moves: MTS, Indiacast, Carlyle

MTS India has appointed Aravind Santhanam as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Tamil Nadu Region. Santhanam will be responsible for strengthening the expansion strategy of the company. He will be reporting directly to Cheenu Seshadri, the COO for South & West Regions- MTS India. Santhanam has an experience of around 22 years. Prior to joining MTS he was a Director at Innovasphere Infotech. He has also worked as COO at Videocon Telecommunications Ltd. and as a Business head with Aircel. SSTL has recently re-structured their management to enable faster decision making and the hire is just a step towards it.  MTS India is owned by Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL), a joint venture which involves equity participation by Sistema of Russia and the Shyam Group of India. **** Indiacast, the joint venture between TV18 and Viacom18, has appointed Govind Shahi as the Business Head for its UK and Europe operations. Shahi will be reporting to Gaurav Gandhi, COO of the company. Prior to joining IndiaCast, Shahi was with Heath Media group. He has also worked as Business head for Zee’s Europe operations. Indiacast, which is a Content Asset Monetization entity, opened its third office in London after establishing offices in US and UAE. **** US-based company, Carlyle Group, has hired Neeraj Bharadwaj as Managing Director for its India investment team. Neeraj will be attending to large growth capital and buyout oppurtunities across India.
