DB Corp, publishers of the Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar, Saurashtra Samachar and Dainik Divya Marathi have reported total revenues of Rs 360.6 crore in Q4 2012, an 14% increase YoY from Rs 317.4 crore in Q4 2011. The company’s consolidated profits stood at Rs 45.21 crore, an 18.75% decline from Rs 55.62 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. The consolidated results also include financial results of subsidiaries Synergy Media Entertainment and I Media Corp. Digital: The company operates digital properties including web and mobile sites for its publications. While it does not report revenues separately for Digital, the company claimed that DainikBhaskar.com recorded 110 million pageviews and DivyaBhaskar.com recorded 40 million pageviews as of November 2011 (comScore). The company also claimed that DainikBhaskar is currently the 3rd largest news site in the country after Yahoo! News and Times of India with a maximum amount of time spent by an user hovering around 6.7 minutes. During the quarter, DB Corp launched the hyper local project, providing reporters with high-end smartphones to shoot and upload video stories directly from the ground. The company informed that they have successfully piloted this project in Jaipur and Ahmedabad and will expanding this project to other cities in the forthcoming quarter. Besides this, the company also launched localized city pages with city specific content including events, happenings, places to eat and see, blogging and reader stories.
