Mobile VAS company, MoMagic has partnered with Disney's Indiagames to develop games based on MediaTek's MRE (Maui Runtime Environment) platform. The company claims that these games will be simple and will provide a richer user experience. It also claimed that various mobile handset brands have shown interest in many of these co-developed games. Previous Games: Indiagames has previously developed numerous MRE based game, including the theme-based Disney’s Aladdin, Pirates of the Caribbean, Veer Hanuman, cricket-based Cricket Net Practice, racing games like Bike Racing, Smash ‘N’ Win and Zapper Racing and other games like Killer Bat, Hungree Birds and Twister Balls. MoMagic App Store: Last month, MoMagic had announced that it had developed an app store for MediaTek’s MRE platform, although there was no information as to when the store will go live. The company had said that this app store will allow developers to distribute and monetize ‘smartphone-like’ apps for feature phones based on MediaTek chipsets and it will comprise of MRE Applications across various categories like Utility, Social Networking Sites, Games, Entertainment and others. MoMagic CEO Arun Gupta had told Medianama that this app store will have all the usual features one can expect like featuring most recent apps, most downloaded, highest priced, as well as previously downloaded apps for for future reference. He added that applications and games can be downloaded with a built-in download manager and one can pause/resume downloads as per their preference.
