John Kuruvilla has stepped down from his position from Flightraja Travels Pvt. Ltd's travel service company Via, reports Techcircle. He now intends to take a sabbatical and launch his own venture after an year. There is currently no information on which segment will this venture focus on. John Kuruvilla was the founder and advisor of the group buying turned e-commerce venture Taggle.com which shut down its operations in December 2011, citing that it doesn’t want to get into the 'Last-Man-Standing game' in the e-commerce space. Prior to this venture, John Kuruvilla was the Chief Revenue Officer & Head of Marketing at Air Deccan, and helped launch Deccan 360. Following this, he served as Executive Vice President -Marketing for the Oberoi Group. His other stints include Propmart Technologies Ltd, Leo Burnett/Orchard Advertising, Contract Advertising and Ammirati Puris Lintas, a subsidiary of Interpublic Group of Companies Inc, a marketing communications and services company. Reports had suggested that John Kuruvilla had joined Via as its chief marketing officer, although there was no official communication regarding it and John Kuruvilla had declined to confirm his new role.
