Industry Moves: MeritNation, Zee Entertainment

E-learning site, MeritNation, which is run by Applect Learning Systems, has appointed Pradeep Gairola as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Prior to joining MeritNation, Gairola was the Vice President and Business Head of TimesofIndia.com, at Times Internet* and was responsible for managing the online properties of the group. He's also had stints with Anadabazar Patrika, Mid Day Multimedia, Aptech Internet and Methodex. MeritNation is an e-learning site that targets students giving school exams in India. It is backed by InfoEdge, which had committed Rs 20 crore in the venture, following its earlier investments, after which it started calling itself a 'Naukri.com group venture'. *** Zee Entertainment Enterprises has appointed Bharat Ranga as Chief Content and Creative Officer. Ranga will be responsible for content and content heads across the network will report to him. Previously, he was serving as Executive Director, International operations, at the company.
