HPTDC Received Rs 13.65 Lakh Grant For Online Reservation System

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India (GOI) had granted Rs.13.65 lakh, out of which, Rs 12.29 lakh had been released to the Government of Himachal Pradesh during the fiscal year 2011-12, for providing facilities for Internet Online reservation and Information to Tourists.

The Government of Himachal Pradesh had first submitted the proposal to Ministry of Tourism, GOI, for a total estimated cost of Rs.30.59 lakh for providing facilities for Internet Online reservation and Information to Tourists in Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation properties (HPTDC) in the month of February 2010. The proposal was then examined as per scheme guidelines and a total Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of Rs.13.65 lakh was sanctioned with release of Rs.12.29 lakh (i.e. 90% of CFA) as first instalment to the Government of Himachal Pradesh during the year 2011-12. Union Minister of State, Tourism, Shri Sultan Ahmed, provided this information in a written reply in Rajya Sabha on 26th April 2012.

The HPTDC offers online bus ticketing for its inter and intra-state buses, and a central reservation system for its hotel properties across the state through its website.
