Network18 owned Homeshop18 has appointed Atrash Aman as Chief Operating Officer & Business Head (M-Commerce) and Dhruva Chandrie as COO & Business Head (TV Shopping), Medianama has learnt from various reliable sources. The company has confirmed these appointments to Medianama.

Prior to his appointment as the COO and Business Head (M-Commerce), Atrash Aman handled multiple roles at HomeShop18 including the Director – Marketing & Strategy, Director – Marketing & Sourcing and Vice President (Sales & Marketing). Before this, he was also the VP & Business Head – Media & Services at Bharti Airtel Ltd and a strategy partner at McCann Erickson.

On the other hand, Dhruva Chandrie was previously serving as the Chief Operating Officer – Retail at Videocon Telecommunications Ltd for the past year. Before that, he also held the position of the National Head Operations of The Mobile Store for two years.  Dhruva’s other stints include Chief Operating officer at the Next Retail India chain; Vice President at Reliance Industries (RIL);  Divisional Manager – Strategy at Tata Finance and Senior Manager at Tata Motors.

Earlier this month, HomeShop18 had launched its online book store offering books across various categories including educational, business, fiction, non-fiction, humor, and entrepreneurship among others. It claimed to offer 10 million book titles across 100 categories. This move followed HomeShop18′s acquisition of On-Graph’s online books retailer CoinJoos in July 2011 with Nitin Gupta, co-founder of On-Graph Technologies, joining Homeshop18 as the head of the books category. The company had also introduced an Active Books service on Dish TV, a DTH operator, offering a catalogue of discounted books and best sellers which can be browsed on TV and ordered through the phone.

HomeShop18 had recorded revenues of Rs. 21.3 crore for the quarter ending December 2011, experiencing a 28% growth over the corresponding quarter last year on a proforma basis. During the quarter, orders executed had also grew by over 25% over the last quarter and 101% Year on Year. The company had raised Rs 100 crore from existing investors SAIF Partners, Network18 and GS Shopping in July 2011 and had stated its intentions to raise an additional Rs 200 crore. It had also appointed Narasimha Jayakumar as the Vice President (E-Commerce) in 2010, who was previously with Google India as its Business Head (Travel and Local) and is currently serving as HomeShop18’s Chief Operating Officer and Business Head, E-commerce, according to his LinkedIn Profile.
