Haresh Chawla has been appointed as partner for India operations at India Value Fund Advisors (IVFA), a private equity firm, reports afaqs. He will join the firm from June 1, 2012 and will be responsible for building and scaling up businesses owned by IVFA across sectors including the company’s investments in the media & entertainment sectors in the country. IVFA has currently invested in Bangalore-based multi-service operator Atria Convergence Technologies, Radio City, hospital chain DM Healthcare and V-Link Group, which runs Meru Cabs, among others. Prior to joining IVFA, Chawla served as group CEO at Network18 and Viacom18 for ten years. At Network18, Chawla led a single business news channel, CNBC-TV18 and finance portal, Moneycontrol.com, to a diversified group, and helped launch the entertainment channel, Colors. In November, Chawla put down his papers to pursue other interests. He helped the company with seamless leadership transition until Network18 appointed B Saikumar as his replacement.Chawla has earlier worked as business development head for HCL Comnet, ABCL's film distribution business and Times of India group's Times Music.
