iNeedName.com, a new product from the Indore-based Walkover Web Solutions Pvt Ltd, allows users to search for domain name availability through Google Chat/GTalk. Features: iNeedName.com provides a chat bot (domain at ineedname dot com) which can be added by Google Talk users, following which they can search for domain name availability through the chat box. The company claims to provide instant replies to queries and support for 81 different TLD's (top-level domains). Apart from domain search, the chat bot also allows users to access complete history of their domain search queries and set alerts for expiring domains. Our Take: We tried the service and found it to be pretty basic in the current avatar. The domain search works as promised by providing instant replies to our search queries and it worked on Gmail accounts as well as Google Apps accounts. That being said, we weren't able to access our search history since the the keyword 'history', as noted in the company website, was being recognized by the chat bot as yet another domain search query and kept alerting that the domain was not available. Also, we weren't able to set alerts for expiring domains. As an aside, we found it quite strange that the bot doesn't support .in ccTLD, considering it is an Indian startup.
