Joule Consulting Pvt Ltd which operates the employment portal StaffOnContract.com has raised Rs 0.5 crore in angel funding from Indiagames CEO Vishal Gondal, reports TechCircle. The company intends to use the funds raised to improve their technology platform and on marketing. StaffOnContract is essentially a hiring marketplace which works on a B2B model, acting as platform between staffing companies which offer contract employees and IT firms. It works on a freemium model offering a free and premium subscription (worth Rs 6000) for employees and offering a premium subscription for employers. The company claims to have 2,000 individuals, 100 employers and 5000 staffing companies onboard and intends to foray into banking and retail sectors in the future. *** Bangalore-based Exotel, which provides a virtual business telephony system, has raised Rs 2.5 crores in its Series A funding from Blume Ventures and Mumbai Angels in return for 25% stake, reports Pluggd.in. The company intends to use the funds raised to improve its infrastucture. Exotel provides a phone number which allows small businesses to manage their inbound voice and text messages without the need of investing in a call centre type infrastructure. The company also offers a virtual dashboard that offers various tools to help businesses manage several areas like sales, marketing, customer support, business intelligence, and analytics. Exotel claims to have more than 65 customers and clock revenues of Rs 4 lakh per month. *** Raining Clouds Technologies Pvt Ltd has raised Rs 1 crore in seed funding from Vijay Shankar Sharma, founder of One97 Mobility Fund, reports TechCircle.…
