Airtel Launches Test-Prep Service On DTH

Airtel Digital TV, the DTH arm of Bharti Airtel, has launched an interactive test preparation service on TV, iExam, which will offer coaching modules, mock and practice tests to students preparing for competitive exams.

Content: iExam currently provides engineering test content for AIEEE, IIT and various state level entrance exams via various packages starting at Rs 49 per week. The company has partnered with several coaching centres across the country for this initiative including the Kota-based education service provider Career point to create content for the service. Airtel states that it intends to add exam content for CAT, Bank PO, and PMT examinations by partnering with suitable content partners, in the near future.

Features: Along with mock and practice tests, iExam will also provide students with their individual rank & percentile, a detailed personalized explanation of their scores with information on their weak and strong areas, timing skills and accuracy levels along with feedback and recommendations based on their performance. The service will also offer information about the various colleges in the country, upcoming competitive exams and details about various education loans available.

The application has been developed by the digital media technology company Brizz TV, which had recently raised an undisclosed amount in a series-A funding from Ojas Venture Partners.

Other services: In October 2010, Airtel had partnered with LearnNext to offer Interactive CBSE coaching content service for its Broadband subscribers. Priced at Rs. 99 per month, or Rs. 199 per quarter, the service offered animations and audio-visual content for the entire course, examples and experiments, solved NCERT exercises, and over 250 lessons explained with audio-visual content in Maths and Science for a specific class (Class VI to Class X).
