Vodafone has appointed Analjit Singh as the non-executive Chairman of Vodafone India, effective Feb 16, 2012. Analjit Singh is the founder and chairman of Max India Limited and its subsidiaries Max New York Life Insurance Company Limited, Max Healthcare Institute Limited and Max Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited. He was also the founder and chairman of Max Telecom Ltd which partnered with Hutchinson Whampoa to provide mobile telecommunications services as Hutchinson Max in the country in Nov 1995. Hutchinson Max was later renamed as Hutchinson Essar Ltd and became Vodafone India, following Vodafone's acquisition in 2007. Analjit Singh reportedly holds 3% stake in Vodafone India Ltd, as noted by the Wall Street Journal. Apart from that, Analjit Singh was also the former non-executive Chairman of Indus Towers, a shared telecom infrastructure services company and was a director on the board of several Indian companies including Tata Global Beverages, Hero MotoCorp and Dabur. *** McAfee has appointed Jagdish Mahapatra as the Managing Director- India and SAARC, McAfee.
