CarveNiche, an online education service provider has received a seed funding of $0.2 million from Mumbai Angels, reports TechCircle. The organization will use the funding for expanding its sales team, R&D, product expansion and geographic expansion. The company, currently based in Bangalore, is likely to expand its operations in North India with the Delhi-NCR market and later on to Kolkata and the North-East. This is Mumbai Angel's second investment in the education space this year, the first being eDream Edusoft where it invested $1 million in January. CarveNiche offers educational content and services for K-12, Higher Education, Corporate, Government, Publishing Houses and Training Institutes. The company claims to have 1100 hours of content for classes VI-X and has tie-ups with 11 schools in India. It offers content development services according to specific learning requirements like induction and compliance training, soft skills, faculty development courses and others through WisdomLeap, their educational product suite. The content development activities are carried out at its offshore location. CarveNiche also offers K-12 digital content which is essentially a digital version of printed text books supplemented with multimedia content. In addition to this, it provides mLearning services which includes m-Capsules which are short lessons for the learners, games and quizzes as well.
