Update: Tata Sky has officially launched its Video on Demand service which includes Catch Up TV and VoD Movie Library. While Catch Up TV allows Tata Sky+ HD subscribers to watch a particular TV show after the original broadcast without the need to record, Movie Library will be an assortment of old and new movies. According to a company statement, Catch Up TV will be offering the 'Top Shows' from channels like Star Plus, Colors, SAB TV, NDTV, SONY Entertainment, Channel V and others which would be hosted on the Tata Sky server. The Movie Library will host over 500-1000 movie titles across multiple genres and languages. The service will also offer a Search by keyword feature. The service will be available free of charge for the first month to all Tata Sky+ HD subscribers, post which Movie Downloads will have a nominal fee, while Catch Up TV will continue to be a free service. Earlier: Direct to Home service provider Tata Sky is testing a Video on Demand service that will enable its subscribers to watch previously telecasted or new content through a broadband connection. However, since the service would require a connection via a LAN cable, it would be restricted to subscribers who own a Tata Sky+ HD set top box, the only one that features an ethernet port.
