MTNL’s Tie-Up With Bharat Berry Extended To Mauritius

Mahanagar Telephone Mauritius Ltd (MTML), the International subsidiary of Indian public sector telecom serviceprovider MTNL, which offers mobile phone services in Mauritius, has inked a deal with Bharat Berry, to offer Push Email and PIM Sync services for its mobile subscribers in Mauritius. MTNL had earlier tied-up with Bharat Berry to offer the same services to its customers in Delhi and Mumbai. However, the services are not exclusive to the state owned telco and are available for subscribers of other networks. According to a statement from the company the service allows access to non propriety encryption based push mail with over the air back-up of the user's contacts, tasks, calendar and notes, and can also sync with MS Outlook on the user's computer. The service will be available for for all handset platforms including Blackberry, Symbian, Android, Windows Mobile and J2ME. The company will offer one month free trial for the Bharat Berry services for all MTML mobile customers. The service is offered by Jaipur (Rajasthan, India) based IT and ISP company, Data Infosys Limited, and claims that it complies to Indian interception laws. The company says it plans to invest Rs 10 crore in India for tie-ups with other operators. If they're doing push email, why not push messaging or IM?
