With India planning to go for the Phase III of FM auctions, and with the government increasing the FDI in FM from 20% to 26%, it is perhaps pertinent to check who dominates the market: As on March 2011, there were 245 private radio stations in India and 108 community radio stations. The community radio stations increased in number from 103 in December 2010. Some Observations: - Adlabs had the maximum number of Radio Stations with 45. - Entertainment Network (India) came second with 25 radio stations across the country. - The top five radio stations owners namely: Adlabs, Entertainment Network (India), South Asia FM, Kal Radio, Synergy Media Enteratainment accounted for 52.24% of the total radio stations in India.
