IndiaGames Ties Up With WWE For Mobile Content In India

UTV owned IndiaGames has collaborated with World Wrestling Entertainment(WWE) to develop and publish their mobile content including ringtones, wallpaper, video clips, voice tones, premium alert packages and WAP decks in India. IndiaGames has distribution tie-ups with all the major telecom operators in the country including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, TATA Docomo and Aircel for distribution, though its primary business is distribution of games. Indiagames’ distribution of WWE content will begin from 1st October. WWE has two flagship brands, namely SmackDown and RAW.

In India, WWE also has a tie-up with Internet major Sify, which hosts a India specific site at wwe.sify.com. Strangely, it appears there are two ‘official sites of World Wrestling Entertainment’. We wonder why IndiaGames is restricting itself to development of ringtone and wallpapers – why not create games for iOS and other mobile devices  based on SmackDown and RAW?

MediaNama’s mission is to help build a digital ecosystem which is open, fair, global and competitive.
