Holiday comparison site, Polama.com has raised an undisclosed amount, in its angel funding round from a consortium of angel investors, led by Rehan Yar Khan and Blume Ventures.

Founded in December 2010, by M.D. Ramaswami and Dilip Panicker, the site claims to list over 5000 holiday packages from affiliated providers such as SOTC, Travel Tours, Thrillophilia, TravelPort, Ezeego1, Yatra, MakeMyTrip, and other travel providers and hotel groups, across 300 domestic and international destinations.

It allows users to search for holiday packages, filtering results by variables like price, holiday type, affiliate, and category, and compare a maximum of five holiday packages.

Note that we noticed a similar holiday packages sorting feature on MakeMyTrip, so the primary differentiator for Polama appears to be that it aggregates deals across multiple travel partners. According to its FAQs, the site does not charge the users anything, and monetizes from relevant sponsored links shown on your search result pages and advertisements.

Other holiday comparison engines include HolidayIQ, which also offers user reviews and feedback, through a community engine, in addition to holiday and hotel deals. It recently merged with Singapore based travel meta search engine WeGo, and launched an online flight search engine.
