Bookurtable.com Ties Up With JustDial For Restaurant Reservations

Bookurtable.com, a web and mobile service that allows users to make restaurant reservations and order food in seven Indian cities of Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi/NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune, has tied-up with online and telephone business listings service, JustDial, allowing users who search for Restaurant listings on the site to make reservations.

This integration has been implemented on listings across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, informs one of our readers. A ‘Reserve a Table’ text with a logo of ‘Book ur Table’ is placed along with the listing, which takes the user to Bookurtable’s reservation interface.

Real-time Table Inventory Management

Bookurtable is offered by Bangalore based Software as a Service (SAAS) provider V-Resonate, and is a dining service exchange platform, allowing restaurants to manage table inventory real time, make reservations and home delivery available online and on mobile phones and market online through promotions.

Bookurtable offers several service packages to Restaurants, offering benefits such as real time dining reservation, inventory utilization dashboard, white labelled website with reservation engine, call center and CRM, table management hardware and software, among others. It monetizes through a transaction fee it levies on real sales.

The company claims to have 200,000 users and 3,000 restaurants on board. The service is also available through native apps for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Symbian mobile platforms.

Our Take

On the customer front, Bookurtable competes with JustEat which allows users to place orders or book tables across 1000 + restaurants in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. Others like Zomato and Burrp offer vanilla restaurant listings and menus. Zomato ’s Pankaj Chaddah had previously detailed out reasons why the company would prefer staying out of online home delivery. For a business listings company like JustDial, the integration of a table reservation service is a good value add.

On an aside, Zomato co-founder Saurabh Sengupta, in his latest blog post talks about why Zomato is treading slowly on getting into the deals business. It includes his discussion with 20 restaurant owners who feel that there is no long term value in going for group buying deals, along with the economics of the business.
