Google Launches Bus Service Transit Info For Chennai & Hyderabad

Google has announced the availability of local bus services info in Chennai and Hyderabad on Google maps’ transit information. It will be available on Google’s online and mobile maps, and will provide bus route information and directions to commuters. Google has been updating transit information on its Indian maps, making it available for more cities.

Previously, it had introduced bus transit information from Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Services (AMTS). Google maps now cover bus and local train/Metro routes for Mumbai and Delhi, bus routes for Pune, Delhi, Ahmedabad Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore and local train/metro routes for Kolkata and Chennai.

As we said, the accuracy of this information would depend on a lot of other ‘real world’ factors, such as traffic and other blockages. We would love to see real time traffic information on driving directions and transit information, to get a better idea of transit time.

And when are we getting an Indian version of Google’s Navigation App for the Android? All the more reason when Indian companies like Spice and Micromax are launching low-priced Android device.
