COAI Appoints Himanshu Kapania As Vice-Chairman; Sanjay Kapoor Continues As Chairman

COAI ( Cellular Operators Association of India) has appointed Himanshu Kapania, Managing Director of Idea Cellular as the Vice Chairperson and re-elected Mr. Sanjay Kapoor, CEO – India & South Asia, Bharti Airtel as the Chairperson of the Association for the next year. Prior to Himanshu Kapania, Sanjeev Aga, the then Managing Director of Idea Cellular was on board, as the Vice-Chairman of the COAI. The Association intends to work closely with the government in finalizing the National Telecom Policy 2011, and work towards the growth of the industry. Kapania has been serving as the Managing Director of Idea Cellular Limited since April 1, 2011. Previously, he was working as the Chief Operating Officer - Corporate and Director of Operations for the company.  On the other hand Sanjay Kapoor was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of India and South Asian operations for Bharti Airtel, last year. Earlier he was serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Bharti Mobile as well as the Joint President of Bharti Airtel's Mobility Business. Kapoor has also served as the President, Mobile Services.
