– GroupM, a media planning & buying agency, has appointed Karthik Nagarajan, as National Director, social media and insights, reports afaqs. Nagarajan had informed MediaNama of the same last week at Ad:Tech. He will be looking after social media and research across the agency network, which comprises of agencies like Mindshare, Motivator, Maxus, MEC, Quasar BMS and Blazar. He was previously working with The Nielsen Company as Director, online sales and was involved in setting up Nielsen India’s online division.

– Tripadvisor, the Expedia owned online travel reviews and recommendation site, has appointed Nikhil Ganju, as Country Manager for its operations in India, reports AlooTechie. He was previously heading TripAdvisor India’s marketing division. TripAdvisor aggregates user generated reviews of Hotels, destinations and eating places, among others, and monetizes through advertising. Last month, Expedia announced plans to spin-off TripAdvisor, as a public company. It had acquired it in 2004 for $212 million. Prior to joining TripAdvisor, Ganju was looking after the online shopping and e-commerce division-Indiatimes Shopping, at Times Internet.

– Concept Digital, the digital arm of Concept Group, has appointed Kushal Sanghvi as Managing Director, reports afaqs. Further, iConcept and Concept ORM, the  will be merged with Concept Digital, to provide services under a single umbrella brand. Prior to Concept, Sanghvi was working with mobile advertising startup StratosHear as Executive Director. StratosHear runs MobiAdz, a mobile advertising network. It also used to offer audio advertising on mobile caller ringback tones. Our coverage of StratosHear here. Sanghvi was with StratosHear for around a year.
