UTV Global Broadcasting has partnered UAE based telco and cable TV service provider Etisalat to distribute its Hindi movie channel UTV Movies and youth centric General Entertainment Channel (GEC), Bindass in the UAE reports Zawya. UTV intends to reach out to the South Asian Diaspora in the region and says that it plans to enhance its presence across the entire Middle East region and even offer customized interactive content tailored for the market. The delivery of the channels will be facilitated by Dubai based media services company Mediastream FZE, which has been appointed by UTV Global Broadcasting for content development and delivery to conventional and new media TV distribution companies in the Middle East. The two UTV channels will be available on Etisalat's digital cable network E-Vision and multi-play fiber optic network E-Life. The channels will be available a-la-carte as well as a part of the network's Asian Choice Basic package. UTV had inked a similar deal in January with Telekom Malaysia to distribute the two channels via its Hypp TV IPTV service in Malaysia. In India, it distributes TV channels to mobile TV platforms of all telcos and Airtel's Broadband TV, via Apalya. It also has a tie-up with Zenga for Mobile TV streaming.
