NRI Focused E-Commerce Site Exclusively.in Launches Online Wedding Boutique

Exclusively.in, the e-commerce website that offers Indian and India-inspired designer wear, jewelry and decor products at discounted prices, to customers in the US, has launched an online Wedding Boutique. The ‘members-only’ site will offer wedding attire including bridal lenghas, men’s sherwanis, bridesmaid outfits and kundan wedding jewelry sets, and other items, at sale prices. Exclusively.in had raised $2.8 million from Accel Partners and Helion Venture Partners, in November 2010. Utilizing the funding to add more collections from well known designers makes sense for a venture that thrives on the luxury goods.

Exclusively.in has tied-up with Indian designers like Ritu Kumar, Payal Singhal, Shyamal & Bhumika, Satya Paul, among others to make their wedding collections available online for customers living in the US. Unlike the site’s other sections which offer short flash sales, this one will be on an “always on sale” mode. The site’s target customer base is specifically non-resident Indians, who find it difficult to buy Indian wedding attire in the US. It still ships only to the US, though shipping to Canada, UK and India is on the cards.

At a recent e-commerce conference, Sanjay Guleria, the CEO of the company, said that the site’s USP is its return policy that allows customers to shop globally and return locally. The site also leverages social media networks like Facebook and Twitter to reach out to existing and prospective customers.

Other sites that offer designer product sales include 99labels, fasionandyou, bagittoday, among others. Also, within the segment, niche sites like fetise.com, that offers designer deals for men, have also come up.
