Presentation and document sharing site Slideshare has signed its India advertising inventory exclusively to ad network Tyroo Media, replacing the Google Adsense ads that were running on the site. According to a statement from Tyroo, a Smile Interactive and Yahoo owned ad network. Slideshare serves almost 2 million unique users in India, and given that it primarily has business presentations, has a premium audience. Tyroo claims that the deal gives them access to advertising inventory generated by almost 2 million unique users, consisting primarily of managers, decision makers and executives; in the process, Google’s display ads have been turned off from Slideshare, and will be served from Tyroo Media, while text ads will still be from Google.
Tyroo’s ad network represents publishers like Reuters, Economic Times, Business Standard, CarDekho, Seventymm. While the company hasn’t disclosed how many publishers they represent in total, they claim to serve half a billion impressions monthly, and reaching 20 million unique users. They claim their reach is growing at over 20% month on month (ED: that level of growth typically indicates a very small size…this just doesn’t sound right, though). Their key clients include Honda, The Economist, Club Mahindra, HDFC, Lenovo, Raymonds, UTI Mutual Funds, Naukri.com, MakeMyTrip.com, Cleartrip.com, among others.
