– Chip maker, Marvell has announced a new 1.2 GHz, single chip solution, PXA978, which combines all global 3G standards including 3G (UMTS) and TD-SCDMA the Chinese 3G standard with HSPA (High Speed Packet Access), to enable mobile developers to design 3G devices that can be used globally. – Bitstream unveiled the next version of its Bolt mobile browser, Bolt 2.5, which features a new user interface, support for Facebook videos and geolocation, and new home page widgets. There was no mention of Indic language script support, though.  Press Release

Gemalto has launched Facebook for SIM that allows operators to embed the Facebook application on SIM cards and let users access the social network via SMS, without the need to download apps or connect to mobile internet. Press Release

– Chinese handset and mobile equipment vendor ZTE launched a high-end Android smartphone, ZTE Skate, which features a 4.3 inches screen, 800 MHz processor, HD display and a 5MP camera.
