Disney XD has launched its popular shows on mobile phones through a deal with Apalya, the content aggregator that provides Mobile TV services to all most telecom operators in India. With the tie-up popular Disney XD shows like Kick Buttowski-Suburban Daredevil, Aaron Stone, Legend of Tarzan and Zeke and Luther will be available on Apalya's MiMobi TV platform for mobile viewing. However, we're not sure if this is content is pay-per-view, on demand or live streaming, whether it is an exclusive deal, or how the content is priced: we haven't heard back from Disney yet. Apalya had recently tied up with Multi Screen Media for distributing Sony and SAB on its mobile TV platform. Interestingly, Apalya has an app for Android and iPhone platforms for the International market and a MiMobi.TV app for the domestic market. The international app also live-streamed the 2010 IPL at 400k bitstream. However, both apps did not work when we tried using it on Wifi or on MTNL's 3G Network on an iPhone (jailbroken). * Music based TV channel B4U Music will now be available on Yamgo's global mobile streaming service. Yamgo had recently tied up with Fashion TV to broadcast its content. Launched in 2005, Yamgo offers live streaming broadcasts and video clips from networks and content providers on smartphones. It is platform independent, and can be accessed through the phone's web browser. We tried using Yamgo and got reasonably fine streaming.
